A lappet-faced vulture challenges a black-backed jackal for meat the jackal successfully grabbed from a recent kill. Jackals are among the smaller scavengers who need to wait their turn after the apex predators depart. The queue is determined by relative size so this jackal would have dodged hyenas - or waited them out - to get his share. With the much large lappet-faced vulture challenging him/her the jackal lost its meal with nothing to show for its risk-taking efforts. I got the image from safari vehicle with a low angle door.
