A pair of Silvery Grebes look after their chick. One parent provides shelter and transportation in its warm back feathers. The other parent offers a small red morsel of nourishment to the chick who instinctively reaches out to feed.I watched the adults work devotedly to care for their young chick from my ground-level position on the shore. Their cooperation with each other was impressive as they positioned to allow the chick to feed.
