A flock of greater and lesser flamingos rose up in unison filling the sky with the color pink during my last visit to Amboseli NP, Kenya. There were so many birds in the air their reflections turned the water below them turned pink! The number of birds was mind boggling. The flock was an estimated 1 million birds. When they blasted off the sound of them running on the water for take off and their beating wings was deafening. I got the image from the roof of an open safari vehicle parked near the water where the birds had been feeding. I specifically used f/11 to insure all the birds in the image would be sharp regardless of their position in the flock.
