Where Surf Meets Sand

Receding surf reveals multiple colors of sand on Namibia’s coast. The drag marks of a higher tide create the lightest layer of sand, which then blend into a darker tranche patterned by black curves of sediment. A chocolate layer of sand shows where the waves have recently washed up with trace patterns of white foam still in evidence. New surf actively washes waves ashore creating patterns of white and green.
